ADEC switches off 10,000 lights for Earth Hour

ADEC Solutions met its WWF Earth Hour targets last night as it led the ADEC staff to extinguish over 10,000 light bulbs throughout its facilities, and across Manila. The project was a huge success, according to its organizers. Mr. Garrie David , ADEC's Admin Manager headed the efforts:

We were all hugely inspired to support the terrific work being done by the WWF and were proud to contribute in their unprecedented campaign efforts. Both of our organizations are very much on the same wavelength with this cause and as part of our continuing work with the WWF, we'll strive to support them moving forwards."

2025 staff within the ADEC group each committed to turning off a minimum of five each light bulbs for the switch-off, saving approximately 4.97 tonnes of CO2 for the hour.

The initiative, Earth Hour, was originally started in Sydney two years ago by climate campaigners keen to cut energy use and promote sustainability. WWF said they sought to create a huge wave of public pressure to influence a meeting in Copenhagen later this year to form a new climate treaty.

The switch-off was planned to take place in more than 3,400 towns and cities across 88 countries, at 2030 in each local time zone.

ADEC's CEO, James Donovan said "It was great to play a role in the project.
